Naptime with My Big Brother

Naptime with My Big Brother

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted here on my blog!  My life has been quite hectic over the past few years.  In the spring of 2013, a tiny visitor appeared on our front porch.  My mom put a bit of food out on the porch and that night we found the tiny visitor, and a skunk!, eating the food.  The next morning, the visitor was up on the windowsill, pawing at the window wanting inside.  My mom and dad placed her in a box and took her to our vet for a checkup.  She is now my much loved little sister!

In Memory of MY Brother Oscar....

I'm very sad to report that my brother Oscar passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, 2012.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

RIP Big Brother....

Napping with Big Brother Oscar

Oscar is a lot older than me and when I was a kitten and came to live here, he didn't much like me. Hey, I'm just a kid and want to play but he just wants to relax. And sometimes I just don't know when to stop and he hisses and growls at me.

But I know he loves me because he lets me snuggle at naptime and eat with him. I love my old bro....Oscar....;)))

My Entertainment

I really enjoy perching on the kitchen windowsill watching all the action at the birdfeeder. Over the past few weeks there's been several mallard ducks visiting. This morning I had a wonderful surprise! One female mallard had her 19 newly hatched babies with her! They fed on the spilled seeds then took a short nap under mom.

I hope they come back soon..they're so cute and fluffy!

Intro.....

I'm a two year old orange and white tabby guy who began life at the League for Animal Welfare, a no kill shelter, in Batavia, Ohio. My family found me in the nursery there and it was love at first sight! I live in a nice house with my "parents", my human "brother", and my feline brothers Oscar and Maynard. I'm the baby of the family and have a lot of crazy kitten energy that is not always appreciated. I love living here because there are plenty of soft comfortable places to nap and a lot of good food. I like the Iams brand dry food in orginal flavor.

I don't really like being dressed up but my "brother" was leaving for Ohio University and they dressed me up to look like my namesake, Rufus the Bobcat mascot. It's all cool as long as they don't try to put a hat on my head! Hats are just not my thing....
